MIDNIGHT EAST invites DJ Stingray 313

デトロイト・エレクトロのアイコンDJ Stingray 313、7年ぶりの来日決定！ DJ Stingray 313として知られるデトロイト出身のDJ/プロデューサーSherard Ingram は、自身とCarl Craig、MoodymannことKenny Dixon Jr.、そしてAnthony Shake ShakirからなるプロジェクトUrban Tribeの創設者であり、James Stinsonによる伝説的なユニットDrexciyaのツアーDJとしても活動していたベテランだ。2010年代後半に起こった高速エレクトロの再興によって、彼は真に世界中から注目される存在となり、現在はアンダーグラウンドクラブミュージックシーンにおいて最も多忙なDJの一人として、ベルリンを拠点に毎週末各地を飛び回っている。 今回Stingrayは、O-EASTメインフロアのパワフルなサウンドシステムで、自身のシグネチャーサウンドであるエネルギッシュなエレクトロ/テクノを披露。ローカルからは国内外のヘッズから熱く支持される存在であり、Stingrayとは2013年以来の共演となるKABUTO、そして渋谷WOMBでModestを主催するSAKUMAが決定した。 東間屋フロアではエレクトロニックミュージックパーティーVITALの共同オーガナイザーMAYUDEPTHとAkeyがB2Bセットを披露するほか、西麻布Trafficを拠点としaxiom、DtRMを主催するNYAO、テクノを軸にエクスペリメンタルな要素を織り交ぜ、リスナーを美しい混乱へと導くADAK7、そしてSlow Techno CrabのオーガナイザーSOGIがプレイする。 Sherard Ingram, a Detroit-born DJ and producer known as DJ Stingray 313, is a veteran who founded the Urban Tribe project—featuring Carl Craig, Kenny Dixon Jr. (aka Moodymann) and Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir—and also served as the tour DJ for James Stinson’s legendary duo Drexciya. The resurgence of fast-paced electro in the late 2010s propelled him into the global spotlight, and he is now one of the most in-demand DJs in the underground club music scene, touring around the world from his current home in Berlin every weekend. Stingray will showcase his signature sound of hi-octane electro and techno on our main floor’s powerful sound system. He’ll be joined by the local hero KABUTO (they also shared the lineup in Tokyo back in 2013) and the Modest organiser SAKUMA. In Azumaya, MAYUDEPTH and Akey will play back-to-back (they co-organise the electronic music party VITAL). Also NYAO, a DJ based at Nishiazabu Traffic and the organiser of axiom / DtRM, ADAK7 who weaves experimental elements into techno, guiding listeners to the state of beautiful confusion, and SOGI, the organiser of Slow Techno Crab are on the bill.
